メタボ じいさんのMy hobby ＆ collection 〜 Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man
こんにちは、メタボじいさんこと“MG3”です。
MG3は毎日車で通勤しています。
会社まで20分の時間ですが、好きな曲を4〜5曲選んで聞いています。
最近よく聞く曲として、Lynyrd Skynyrdの『Simple Man』があります。

Simple Man の歌詞は下のとおりで、母親が小さい息子に将来のことを諭している内容の曲です。
そこでいつも思うのは、『Simple Man』とはどんな男になれと諭しているのでしょうか。
単純な男、質素な男、素朴な男、誠実な男など色々な和訳があります。

MG3の思いでは『Simple Man』とは、理屈をこねるのではなく、自分の気持ちに正直な『愚直な男』のことを言っているのではないかと思います。
自分は周りの人からどう見られているのだろうか、どうすれば上手く立ち振る舞えるだろうかなどと、心の隅で思っている自分としては、『Simple Man』こそ理想であり、憧れでもあります。
今からでも残りの人生をは『Simple Man』として過ごしたい‼️
